SUMMARY:Webinar: Advances in Indoor and Sensor Positioning
DESCRIPTION:Join the Webinar on Advances in Indoor and Sensor Positioning! \n\n\n\nDate: 27.3.2025 \n\n\n\nTime: 13.00-15.00 (Finnish time) \n\n\n\nRegister now: https://locationinnovationhub.eu/en/news/27-3-2025-webinar-advances-in-indoor-and-sensor-positioning-2206/ \n\n\n\nAre you interested in indoor and sensor positioning technologies and the opportunities they offer to your business in Europe and worldwide? Welcome to Location Innovation Hub’s webinar organized together with Finnish FAIR EDIH and Nemonoor EDIH from Norway. \n\n\n\nIndoor and sensor positioning is important because it enables accurate location in areas where GPS does not work well\, such as inside buildings\, tunnels and urban areas. They improve navigation\, security\, asset tracking and automation in industries such as healthcare\, logistics\, retail and smart cities. These technologies also enhance the user experience\, optimise operations and support emerging applications such as augmented reality and autonomous robots. \n\n\n\nIndoor and sensor positioning is improving with AI\, sensor fusion\, UWB and advanced wireless technologies such as UWB and 5G\, making location tracking more precise. Challenges include signal interference\, high energy consumption and a lack of standard rules across systems. Future work aims to improve accuracy\, save energy and make different technologies work better together. \n\n\n\nThis webinar highlights the experiences of three Nordic EDIHs: The Location Innovation Hub\, Finnish AI Region and Nemonoor Norway. We also include insights from Estonia. \n\n\n\nDon’t miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights from leading experts in the field. Join us to explore the future of indoor and sensor positioning and its impact on various industries! \n\n\n\nWe look forward to seeing you there! \n\n\n\nWelcome and Introduction \n\n\n\nTuomo Malkamäki\, Finnish Geospatial Research Institute (FGI) \n\n\n\nEirik Andreassen\, Nemonoor \n\n\n\nTest environment for Navi indoor positioning \n\n\n\nTuomo Malkamäki/Toni Hammarberg\, FGI \n\n\n\nNavigating Without Boundaries: A User Study on Empowering Mobility Through AR for Visually Impaired and Functionally Disabled Individuals \n\n\n\nPetter Kvalvik\, IFE (Institute for Energy Technology\, Norway) \n\n\n\nUse cases from companies \n\n\n\n\nSmart cities\, Jenna-Riia Oldenburg\, Sitowise\n\n\n\nSensor positioning use case\, Kari Leppänen Koherent\n\n\n\nEstonian and European use cases\, Indrek Ruiso\, Eliko\n\n\n\n\nPanel discussion \n\n\n\nJoin us for an engaging panel discussion where we delve into the next steps for indoor and sensor positioning technologies. Our expert panelists will address critical questions and explore future opportunities such as application needs and technological evolution. We also discuss about the opportunities of EDIH co-operation.  The panel is lead by Tuomo Malkamäki\, including panelists Michael Louka from IFE\, Teemu Lehtinen from KiraHub and Indrek Ruiso from Eliko. \n\n\n\nClosing at 15.00
