The deal combines Elmo’s cybersecurity and IT outsourcing services with Solu Digital’s expertise in Microsoft-based data and AI tools, as the acquiring company seeks to offer clients a single partner for both secure infrastructure and AI adoption. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Finnish IT services company ICT Elmo Oy has completed the acquisition of Solu Digital Oy, a Helsinki-based provider of information management solutions built on Microsoft technologies, the companies announced on 28 September. The deal takes effect on 30 September, and the purchase price will not be disclosed.
Solu Digital will continue to operate as a separate company under its own name within the Elmo Group, according to the announcement. The company’s roughly 300 existing clients will keep their current contacts and services, with no immediate changes expected to daily operations.
Elmo manages ICT environments, cloud services, devices, cybersecurity and business continuity for its clients. Solu Digital, founded in 2011, brings a different set of strengths. The company specialises in Microsoft-based tools for data management, business processes and artificial intelligence.
Its portfolio includes SharePoint document systems, Microsoft Teams workspaces, and Power BI analytics, along with Microsoft’s Copilot and Fabric platforms. Solu Digital also holds Microsoft Solutions Partner status in three areas: Data & AI, Digital & App Innovation, and Modern Work.
Elmo said the acquisition would let it offer clients both AI and digital-workplace solutions alongside the secure technical infrastructure needed to support them, addressing what the company described as a gap between AI experimentation and AI that delivers measurable business value.
“AI is no longer a separate technology project; it is becoming part of almost all work and business,” said Janne Aaltonen, Elmo’s chief executive. “We want to help our customers move from AI talk to concrete, secure solutions that deliver measurable value.”
Jari Kyläjärvi, Solu Digital’s chief executive, said joining Elmo would let his company reach a broader client base while retaining its existing culture and approach. “Elmo’s strong customer-oriented and people-centered culture makes it a very natural partner for our next phase of growth,” he said.
Elmo holds ISO/IEC 42001 certification, an international standard for AI management systems, which the companies say it was the first Finnish firm to receive.
Elmo has framed this as a foundation for deploying AI tools securely and in compliance with emerging regulation, an increasingly prominent concern for organisations adopting generative AI tools such as Microsoft’s Copilot.
The acquisition also supports Elmo’s strategic aim of expanding in the Uusimaa and Southwest Finland regions, where Solu Digital already holds a strong position among Finland’s largest 500 companies, according to the announcement.
As with many private acquisitions in the Finnish technology sector, the financial terms of the deal were not released, making it difficult to assess the transaction’s scale relative to either company’s existing revenue or Elmo’s broader acquisition strategy.
