Digital Maturity Assessment (DMA) tool, developed by the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs), enables small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to evaluate their digital maturity across six key dimensions: digital business strategy, digital readiness, digital skills improvement, data management, automation and intelligence, and green digitalization.

This tool is accessible in 32 languages, allowing businesses across Europe to identify their strengths and areas for improvement in digital transformation. The DMA tool is used together with a FAIR EDIH expert, who helps companies in assessing and benchmarking their digital capabilities against industry peers and regional averages, facilitating strategic planning for digital growth. Regular use of the DMA tool enables businesses to monitor their progress over time, ensuring continuous advancement in their digital transformation journey.

You can also use the open DMA self-assessment tool at Open DMAT – Digital Maturity Assessment tool | European Digital Innovation Hubs Network.

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd offers a free, web-based AI Maturity Tool that enables organizations to assess their readiness for adopting artificial intelligence (AI). The tool evaluates AI maturity across six dimensions: strategy and management, products and services, competence and cooperation, processes, data, and technology.

By completing the assessment, companies receive a visual representation of their AI maturity, helping identify strengths and areas for improvement. This facilitates strategic planning for AI adoption and allows benchmarking against other organizations. Regular use of the tool enables monitoring progress over time, ensuring continuous advancement in AI initiatives.

You can access the tool at Artificial Intelligence (AI) Maturity Tool.

The AI Needs Analysis service from FAIR EDIH is a one-time session designed to assist SMEs in understanding and advancing their AI initiatives. It involves two FAIR AI experts and (preferably two technical) representatives from the company, focusing on the business case, technical viability, and challenges of an existing or envisioned AI solution.

After the session the participants receive an AI Assessment and Consultation report with tailored technical recommendations, enabling better clarity of their current situation and next steps. This service targets startups, emerging, and mature SMEs that have identified an area for AI application and are committed to its development. Sessions provide actionable insights to align AI strategies with business goals

The HPC (high-performance computing) Needs Analysis service helps SMEs explore the use of supercomputing resources such as LUMI for their projects. It provides a tailored advisory meeting to address needs like developing AI solutions, running large-scale simulations, or managing significant data volumes. The service is accessible anytime and typically involves decision-makers and technical experts for focused discussions. Companies benefit by gaining cost-effective access to major European high-performance computing resources.
