Aveksana, a startup company operating within the Helsinki Education Hub, has been awarded the title “Most Innovative Research-Focused AI SaaS 2025 – Finland”. The international organisation Acquisition International presented the award in October 2025 in Helsinki.
The company develops AI solutions that help researchers and R&D professionals work faster and more efficiently. The platform enables users to identify, test, and refine their research ideas in minutes rather than weeks. Aveksana is already used by more than 24,000 people worldwide.
According to Aveksana’s founder and CEO Mourad Mechiche, the support from Helsinki Education Hub has been crucial for Aveksana’s growth and the achievement of new goals. “We are proud that Aveksana has been recognised for its pioneering work in utilising AI in research,” Mechiche states.
The award underscores Finnish interest in artificial intelligence. The country has rapidly emerged as one of Europe’s leading centres for AI innovation by investing in education, cutting-edge research, and technology development. This has created an excellent growth environment for AI startups as well.
Helsinki Education Hub, part of the University of Helsinki’s network, supports early-stage education and technology startups. The incubator helps companies like Aveksana grow and expand both in Finland and internationally. It provides resources and guidance to companies that combine education and technology.
Aveksana’s solution addresses a significant challenge related to developing and testing research ideas. The processes typically take a considerable amount of time. By leveraging AI, the company aims to accelerate these stages substantially, allowing researchers to focus on creative thinking and scientific breakthroughs.
