3E Network Technology Group ilmoitti maanantaina sopimuksesta suomalaisen Orka Technologiesin kanssa. Yhteinen hanke vastaa Euroopan kasvavaan tekoälyinfrastruktuurin kysyntään.
Hanke toteutetaan vaiheittain. Ensimmäisenä vuotena datakeskuksen kapasiteetti on 6 megawattia. Tämän jälkeen kapasiteettia laajennetaan vähintään 10 megawatilla vuosittain. Kolmen vuoden kuluttua kokonaiskapasiteetti on 26 megawattia.
3E Networkin toimitusjohtaja, tohtori Tingjun Yang, kertoo Suomen valinnasta.
Under the agreement, 3E Network will provide financing and technical expertise, whilst Orka Technologies will leverage its local connections and experience working with Finnish government authorities to secure necessary approvals and resources.
The Hong Kong-listed company, which trades on the Nasdaq under the ticker MASK, plans to establish a wholly-owned subsidiary in Finland to manage the data centre’s development and daily operations.
The announcement marks 3E Network’s entry into the international AI infrastructure market. The firm, which previously focused on business-to-business IT solutions, has been repositioning itself as an AI infrastructure provider.
The Finnish expansion comes as 3E Network faces financial pressures at home. The company recently closed a private offering of a €1.3m convertible promissory note, securing gross proceeds of €1.2 million.
Data centres have become increasingly critical infrastructure as artificial intelligence applications proliferate. The facilities require substantial amounts of electricity to power and cool thousands of servers running AI computations.
Finland has emerged as an attractive location for such projects due to its cool climate, which reduces cooling costs, and its commitment to renewable energy sources. The Nordic nation has positioned itself as a hub for sustainable technology infrastructure. The 3E Network said it expects the Finnish project to become “a powerful new growth engine” supporting its long-term profitability goals.
