Most Finnish businesses know the last part of the EU AI Act is coming. Far fewer know what it actually means for them — which risk category their solution falls into, what that demands in practice, or where to find reliable guidance without wading through hundreds of pages of regulation.

Most Finnish businesses know the EU AI Act is coming. Far fewer know what it actually means for them — which risk category their solution falls into, what that demands in practice, or where to find reliable guidance without wading through hundreds of pages of regulation.
That gap is exactly what Finnish AI Region (FAIR) has built its new AI HelpDesk to close. If you want to try it out, please contact us via this form.
The Finnish AI support landscape is broader than many realise. There are testing environments, funding programmes, expert networks, and advisory services available both in Finland and across Europe — many of them free or heavily subsidised. The problem isn’t a lack of support. It’s knowing where to look.
The AI HelpDesk is a single, free point of contact where companies can ask anything related to AI: which regulation applies to them, what their obligations are, what support is available and from whom, or simply where to begin. FAIR responds quickly, and if the answer isn’t available in-house, they point you directly to the right expert or organisation, in Finland or elsewhere in Europe.
The HelpDesk is particularly well-suited to four areas. On regulation, you can ask what risk category your AI solution falls into, what compliance steps are required, and when specific obligations kick in.
In the Finnish ecosystem, you can ask who does what, which services are free, and how to approach a particular organisation. In the European ecosystem, you can ask about EU-funded programmes, cross-border testing environments, and finding the right partner abroad.
And on FAIR’s own services, you can ask how to get started, how to run a pilot, or how to find the right expert for your specific situation.
The service is fully funded by the European Commission and FAIR’s implementing partners, which means companies receive expert guidance at no cost. The goal is straightforward: reduce the time and uncertainty involved in finding the right support, so businesses can focus on actually using AI rather than figuring out how.
FAIR is also developing a fully automated version of the HelpDesk, which will route companies directly to the right service or expert without any waiting or back-and-forth. Whether the need relates to FAIR’s own services, partner organisations, or something further afield in the European ecosystem, the tool will identify it and point you straight there. More details to follow once it launches.
